'Consistency' - The feature of this MI side..

Sadio Mane scored at Anfield and just 10 mins later, Glenn Murray sent Brighton into the lead at the Amex stadium against Manchester City. If it were to stay that way, Liverpool would have ended the 29 year long draught but it wasn't to be. If it was the last day of the premier league, there was another trophy to be decided as well but in a completely different part of the world. The IPL final was waiting for millions to get stuck in front of the T.V. and enjoy the spectacle. It promised a lot. It had to deliver and it did. Mumbai and CSK each had 3 IPL titles to their name before this final so this was the match that was going to decide the most successful team in IPL history. Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat on a descent enough wicket in Hyderabad and he couldn't have asked for a better start from Quinton de Kock. Having smashed Deepak Chahar for 3 sixes in an over, Mumbai were cruising at 45 for no loss. Wickets at regular intervals meant that they could only reac...

It's all about -"I am Hardik Pandya, come look at me!"

He can use the long handle, he can bowl at 140, he takes stunners around the park, there is nothing that Hardik Pandya can not do on a cricket field. As unpredictable a cricketer as he is, there is something about Hardik Pandya that you just like, may be it's the swagger or the power or just his attitude. If we choose to ignore his form off the field, he is a mighty fine for India. When we look at him, we could just feel and sense the confidence oozing. With both his arms loosened away from his body, chewing gum most of the times, his walk from the dressing room to the middle of the pitch is one picture of arrogance itself. Then what he does with the bat in hand is quite astonishing. When Pandya connects it, you can be sure of the ball clearing the ropes without having to check how long the boundary is. Because when Pandya hits it, it does stay hit and it clears the boundary by a long way. When playing against the spinners, he is almost like, 'I am Hardik Pandya. You can not ba...

ONE FOR THE FUTURE!

In an era where fitness is the most emphasized aspect of the game, it was very rare to see a 18 year old with a bulky physique in the Indian Under 19 team. Rishabh Pant is one of the biggest prodigies and probably one of the strongest teenegers Indian cricket has ever seen. He burst onto the scene when he smashed his way into the Indian Under 19 team. He caught everyone's attention with an innings of 74 off 28 balls against Nepal. A few days later he blasted a 96 ball 111 to fire India into the semifinals. A 1.9 crore IPL contract and an incredible domestic season with Delhi was about to follow in which he scored the fastest century in the Ranji Trophy history. Another innings that stood out was a triple hundred at the Wankhede Stadium, a part of which I was fortunate enough to witness.      A couple of aspects of his technique are quite unique. Obviously he is a very hard hitter of the ball but it looks as if he tries to hit the ball too hard and in the process l...

IPL 10 IS HERE.......

IPL 10 IS HERE.... Indian Premier League is into its 10th year and every team has got one game under their belt as we arrive at Day 5.So what we have seen in these past four days is nothing different from the past 9 editions,if not better. It started off with the two finalists from 2016.With the big guns like De Villiers and Kohli missing,Sunrisers  started as favourites and ended up victorious.Lack of firepower at the top of the order meant that any score above 200 was going to be difficult for RCB to chase. On the other hand, Afghanistan and Rashid Khan announced themselves in the IPL as the leggie made a decent debut for Sunrisers.     The 2nd match was played in Pune between Rising Pune Supergiants and Mumbai Indians.Mumbai Indians reached 184 thanks to a last over bash by Hardik Pandya but again it was Steve Smith with a brilliant 84 off 54 taking his team over the line.I think there was some m...
